Future Teachers of Alabama

FTA (Future Teachers of Alabama) is a statewide pre-professional organization for students
interested in pursuing a career in teaching. It's a program within the AEA (Alabama Education
Association ) that aims to promote interest in teaching, provide experiences to help students
explore the profession, and develop leadership and professional attitudes. FTA chapters offer
opportunities for students to participate in activities like lesson planning, portfolio development,
and community service. The program fosters a positive attitude toward education and helps
students determine if education is a viable career path for them.
